As old as dinosaurs, birds have evolved over millennia and number around 10,000 species across the planet. They inspire countless artists to create and honour their small forms. Birds mark seasonal rhythms with grace and instinct which can guide us through them.
My work about birds and especially crows, speaks to both the life affirming aspects of this creature and the fragility of life itself. We can not have life without death, and so the cycle continues for us all. With each stitch I strive to remember this lesson, and make work with integrity and respect for each stitched bird.
